About
The Right Bag is a free, independent catalog of travel bags for one-bag travellers. Every bag is measured on the same criteria (volume, weight, dimensions, carry-on compliance and features), so you can compare them honestly.
The data
Every bag's specs (price, volume, dimensions, weight and features) come from the brand's own product page or, when that isn't available, a major retailer's listing. When a bag isn't sold in the US, its price is left blank rather than converted from another currency. The pages used are recorded for each bag, along with the month it was last checked. Prices and models change, so always confirm on the brand's site before buying. You can download the full dataset, and what's new lists every update.
Carry-on and personal-item fit are scored against the published size limits of major airlines. The methodology explains how, and lists every airline limit with its source. You can also browse bags by airline.
How the site is funded
The Right Bag has no ads and no sponsors. Some "View on" buttons are affiliate links: if you buy after clicking one, the brand may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. Those buttons are marked on the bag page. Affiliate status never changes which bags are listed, their data or their ranking, and no brand can pay to rank higher.
Thanks
This project was inspired by the onebag spreadsheet maintained by the r/onebag community, the reference that got many of us into one-bag travel. The Right Bag's data is researched independently and isn't taken from it.
