How big can I go? Airline fit by backpack volume

For each 5-litre size band, the share of the 36 airlines' cabin-bag limits, and of the 26 published under-seat limits, that an average backpack of that size fits. Up to 25L, backpacks fit 90% or more of cabin limits. Under the seat, they fit at least half the limits only up to 10L.

Sizes with fewer than 3 backpacks are left out. Fit uses each bag's listed dimensions in any orientation, so a stuffed soft pack can do worse at the gate. Check your own bag or see how fit is calculated.
